Three face drug charges after search

Police searched an apartment in the first block of East Franklin Street Thursday resulted in the arrests of three Hagerstown residents, the discovery of marijuana and discovery of a 9mm handgun, according to a written release from the Washington County Narcotics Task Force.

The warrant was served Thursday at 67 E. Franklin St. apartment 1 as a result of a previous alleged controlled purchase of crack cocaine from the residence, according to the release.

Jessica Marie Claiborne, 19, of 67 E. Franklin St., apartment 1, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a regulated firearm, according to the release.

Joshua Allen Hamby, 19, of 1014 Security Road, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Ashford James Randolph, 20, of 13322 Fairgreen Circle, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia and hindering, according to the release.

Claiborne was being held Friday afternoon at the Washington County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond, a jail spokeswoman said. Hamby and Randolph were not listed as inmates at the jail, she said.
