Truck driver killed in crash on interstate

October 08, 2005

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.

A tractor-trailer driver was killed Friday when the truck went off Interstate 81 and crashed, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Kuldip Aulakh, 44, of Centreville, Va., who was driving a 1999 Freightliner, was killed, police said.

Police said the truck was traveling north on Interstate 81.

At about 6:45 a.m., the truck went off the road near exit 14 and continued on the median and across an on-ramp. It hit an embankment north of the road, which caused the load in the trailer to go through the tractor, police said.

Police said Aulakh was wearing a seat belt.
