As part of Hagerstown Community College's response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster, members of HCC's faculty and administration will hold a public discussion on issues concerning the recent hurricane from noon to 12:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, in the College Center.

"The Aftermath of Katrina: An Academic Perspective" will set the event in historical and sociological context while exploring the impact of the hurricane on the people, the place, and the politics of the region.

A question and answer session will follow the panel discussion.

Antietam Garden Club



A fall flower workshop, is planned at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch, Monday, Oct. 10, at the home of Lynn Vinke, 20331 Ayoub Lane, Hagerstown. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. Mary Ellen Bay will lead the optional workshop. Bring fall flowers, foliage, berries, pine cones, container and 3-inch pin holders. For reservations, call Vinke at 301-745-4380.
