Boonsboro man killed in accident

A Boonsboro man was killed Thursday morning when the pickup truck he was driving hit a garbage truck, according to a release from Maryland State Police.

Kenneth Eugene Tracey, 48, was pronounced dead at Washington County Hospital.

The release gave the following account of the accident:

A garbage truck owned by BFI Waste Services and driven by Mark Eugene Repp, 37, of Clear Spring, was stopped Thursday about 5:30 a.m. in the eastbound lane of Jefferson Boulevard near Warrenfeltz Lane when a 1994 Toyota pickup truck driven by Tracey struck the garbage truck in the rear.

Paramedics from Community Rescue Service transported Tracey to Washington County Hospital. Repp was not injured, the release said.

A police spokeswoman said the accident was under investigation Thursday night.
