Student artists who are ages 13 through 18 may enter their best artwork in The Herald-Mail's student art contest. The contest is open to artwork in any medium - flat or three-dimensional. Individual artists may enter no more than three pieces.

Four pieces will be chosen - the best drawing, the best painting, the best three-dimensional piece or mixed-media and the best of show. The best of show artist will win $50 and have his art framed at no cost by Howard's Art Supplies & Frames. All four winning artworks and their artists will be featured on the Next page in The Herald-Mail.

Drop off artwork at The Herald-Mail, 100 Summit Ave. in Hagerstown, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or mail your artwork to Student Art Contest, The Herald-Mail Co., P.O. Box 439, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Entries are due by 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3.

Attach to each piece of art a label with the title and medium of the artwork; also the name, age, phone number and school or indicate if home-schooled.

Students may pick up their artwork at The Herald-Mail after contest results are published. Herald-Mail employees and their children are not eligible to compete in the contest.
