At the gate, we came upon a ring of dancers. The actors were teaching visitors how to do easy traditional dances. We joined in the next one, and it was a lot of fun. Easy to catch on, but challenging enough that it was still interesting.

Finally after a day full of fun we stepped out the gates and traveled 400 years back to our sport utility vehicle. All I could hope for was that we could come back before it ends in October!

DIRECTIONS: From Hagerstown, take Interstate 81 north to Middlesex, Pa.; exit I-81 and get on the Pennsylvania Turnpike heading east. Go to Exit 266 and head south on Pa. 72. The entrance to the renaissance festival is 1/4-mile south on the left.
