Former Chambersburg man shot, killed in Waldorf

A former Chambersburg, Pa., man was shot and killed Friday afternoon in a Charles County hotel where he had been working, the Charles County Sheriff's Office said in a written statement.

Police said Jerry Alan Wills III, 19, was working at the Days Inn at 11370 Days Court in Waldorf when someone entered the hotel and shot and killed him in the front desk area, according to the statement.

Police were called to the scene at 2:47 p.m.

A witness saw someone leaving the scene who was described as a black male wearing a white skull cap and a dark shirt, police said. He was described as being in his late teens, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and having a medium complexion and an average build, police said.


Police have not determined a motive.

Wills' body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.

Wills originally was from Chambersburg, but had been living in Waldorf since January, police said.
