Man faces charge of indecent exposure

A man accused of exposing himself to two girls Saturday was released on bond Monday from the Washington County Detention Center, according to a spokesman there.

Juan Carlos Menas, of an unknown address in Silver Spring, Md., was charged with indecent exposure, according to Washington County District Court documents.

An 11-year-old girl and her friend were selling Kool-Aid and water to men working on new homes at the intersection of Lanvale and Summer streets in Hagerstown, shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, documents state. While they were selling the drinks, Menas said he wanted to buy Kool-Aid, according to documents.

As Menas was about to pay for the drink, he reached into his pants and exposed himself, documents state. The girls gave Menas the Kool-Aid and walked away, setting up their drink stand on another corner, according to documents.

Menas followed them and continued to expose himself, documents state. The girls ran home and told a parent what happened, according to documents.

Both of the girls identified Menas to police as the man who exposed himself to them, documents state.
