The Little League umbrella includes groups for baseball players ages 6-18. There are more than 4,000 players in District 1, which includes Washington, Allegany and Garrett counties.

  • T-Ball is for players ages 6-7.

  • Minor League is for players ages 8-12.

  • Major League is for players ages 9-12. Major League commonly is recognized as Little League.

  • Junior League is for players age 13.

  • Senior League is for players ages 14-15.

  • Big League is for players ages 16-18.


Washington County also has a girls softball league. There are divisions for elementary, middle and high school players. Most games are played at the Kemps Mill Softball Complex in Williamsport. For information, call Washington County Parks and Recreation at 301-791-3125.

The Hagerstown PONY League plays at Funkhouser Park on Jefferson Boulevard and offers baseball for boys and girls ages 13-14. For information, call the league office at 301-797-6696.

Hellane Park is home to the Hagerstown Colt League and Hagerstown Palomino League. The Colt League offers baseball for boys and girls ages 15-16. The Palomino League is for 17- and 18-year-olds. For information, call the league office at 301-797-8074.
