No. 4 Tuscarora runs over Rebels, 29-7

FREDERICK, Md. - Kenny White rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries to lead No. 4 Tuscarora to a 29-7 victory over South Hagerstown on Friday.

Cruz Mannherz continued the Titans running attack by gaining 109 yards and a touchdown on 13 rushes. Mannherz also ran a successful two-point conversion in the third quarter. Tuscarora (2-0) receiver Jason Dice finished with two catches for 47 yards and a score.

Chambersburg 41, CD East 0

COLONIAL PARK, Pa. - Jamill Whitehead led Chambersburg's rushing attack by tallying 90 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries as Chambersburg defeated Central Dauphin East in a Mid-Penn Commonwealth contest.

The Trojans (1-2) totaled 283 yards on the ground against the Panthers (0-3), including 71 yards by Tyler Perry and 69 yards from Josh Truman. Perry and Truman each ran for a touchdown. Vinnie Schaffer led Chambersburg's defense with two interceptions.

St. John's 34, John Carroll 20

FREDERICK, Md. - Randal Smedley returned the opening kickoff in the third quarter 80 yards for a touchdown to propel St. John's at Prospect Hall over John Carroll in Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association action.

Smedley also had 15 carries for 113 yards and a score for the Vikings (2-0). Smedley also caught six passes for 33 yards. Quarterback J.P. Traylor completed 16 of 31 passes for 241 yards and two scores. Traylor also ran for a touchdown. Both scoring passes were caught by Scott Ritter, including a 94-yard catch in the first quarter. Ritter finished with seven catches for 180 yards and caught a pass from Traylor on a successful two-point conversion.

Frankfort 26, Williamsport 0

RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Williamsport dropped to 1-1 on the season with a 26-0 loss to host Frankfort. The Falcons improve to 2-2.

Musselman 42, James Wood 0

INWOOD, W.Va. - Shon Jackson had 12 carries for 101 yards and three scores as Musselman shutout visiting James Wood (Va.).

Rusty Riner added 74 yards and two touchdowns on 12 rushes for the Applemen (2-2). Quarterback Ethan French went 5-for-8 for 55 yards and scored a touchdown on a draw from the three-yard line.

Brunswick 30, Walkersville 21

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Danny Lefebvre ran for 107 yards and two touchdowns as Brunswick bounced back from a season-opening loss to beat Walkersville.

Andrew Derr added 97 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns for the Railroaders (1-1).

Walkersville falls to 1-1.

McConnellsburg 3, CVCS 0

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Sarah Taylor recorded nine assists and two kills to lead McConnellsburg past Cumberland Valley Christian School, 25-15, 25-23, 25-17.

Emile Ott added six assists for the Spartans (5-1, 2-0 Sideling Hill League) while Amanda Price and Trisha Seiders each had four kills.

Grace 3, Shalom 2

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Rebecca Morgan posted 13 points, including seven aces, with nine assists to lift Grace Academy past Shalom Christian Academy 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11 in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference matchup.

Megan Cox added 17 digs and 12 kills for the Knights (3-1, 2-1). Kristin Serafini had 14 assists.

Greencastle 3, Fairfield 1

FAIRFIELD, Pa. - Megan Wunderlich recorded 10 points and eight digs to lead Greencastle past Fairfield 20-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-19 in a nonleague matchup.

Michelle Negley added 14 points and three digs for the Blue Devils and Melanie Fries had 10 digs. Kortney Eshleman added eight assists.

JV: Fairfield 9-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Bermudian Springs 3, Waynesboro 2

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Paige Tanner had 23 kills for Waynesboro in the Maidens' five-game loss to Bermudian Springs on Thursday.

Gillian Hollen had seven kills for Waynesboro, while Jillian Lininger had seven aces, Hannah Baxter had eight blocks and Leslie McKenzie had 35 assists.

JV: Waynesboro, 2-0.

MEN'S SOCCER


Southern Maryland 5, HCC 1

Devin Baer scored his fourth goal of the season as Hagerstown Community College lost to the College of Southern Maryland.

Rhet Troxell assisted on Baer's goal. Jeremy Draper made five saves for HCC (1-3).

Southern Maryland held a 10-4 advantage in shots over HCC.

BOYS SOCCER


Shalom 3, Grace 2

MARION, Pa. - Shalom scored three goals in less than three minutes during the first half and edged Grace in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Nick Bunting and Zack Morgan each had a goal for Grace (2-5, 0-3), while Stephen Wilson and Bunting each had an assist and Jake Reese had six saves.

Susquenita 4, Waynesboro 1

COVE, Pa. - Art Rougerio scored the lone goal for Waynesboro (1-2-1) on an assist from Chris Arendt in the second half Thursday night.

Martinsburg 9, East Fairmont 2

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Kristen Marshall had four goals and four assists in a spectacular effort, leading the Bulldogs.

Laurel Bobo had three goals and two assists for Martinsburg (4-4-1). Ashley Ausherman had a goal and an assist, Sarah Lazur had two assists, Emma Mattax had one goal and Sara Orr and Tiffany Boyles each added an assist.
