Navy Seaman Benjamin W. Godman, son of Diana L. and Greg W. Godman of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

Godman is a 1999 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.




Air Force Maj. Peter H. Klavik, son of Rudy Klavik of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., has arrived for duty at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Klavik, a T-6 pilot instructor, is assigned to the 558th Flying Training Squadron.

Klavik received a bachelor's degree in 1986 from the University of Maryland College Park and earned a master's degree in 1996 from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla.




Christopher D. Robertson, son of Timothy G. and Mary P. Robertson of Keedysville, graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wash.

Robertson is attending Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va.




Dan T. Miller, son of Tony and Sue Miller of Frederick, Md., graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wash.

Miller, a 2002 graduate of Linganore High School in Frederick, is attending Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va.




Air Force Reserve Master Sgt. John L. Sheets, son of Donald L. and Janet R. Sheets of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., has been decorated with the Air Force Commendation Medal.

Sheets is a crew chief/aircraft mechanic assigned to the 512th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Del.

Sheets graduated in 1980 from Berkeley Springs High School and received an associate's degree in 1986 from the Community College of the Air Force. He earned another associate's degree in 1990 from Delaware Technical Community College in Dover.




Army Pvt. Kelly R. Bakley, daughter of Susan Knight of Crofton, Md., and William Bakley of Frederick, Md., has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

Bakley is a 2005 graduate of South River High School in Edgewater, Md.
