A sign for Kerch's Southern BBQ, which once marked Red's Twin Kiss restaurant on Hagerstown's north side, sold for $536.50 in an auction on eBay.

According to a press release from Kim Hines, owner of Greencastle Online Auctions, which sponsored the sale, proceeds from the sign will go directly to the Community Free Clinic in Hagerstown.

Dave Litton, owner of Maugansville Creamery, bought the sign in the sale, which ended last week. He said Wednesday he plans to erect the sign as soon as possible at his ice cream store.

The sign was offered for sale by James Kercheval, the owner of Kerch's, and Tony Dahbura, vice president of Dahbura Family Limited Partnership, which manages the property where the restaurant once stood. According to Kercheval, the restaurant closed in October, and he still is looking for a new site.
