Suns' road trip comes to end on positive note

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Carlos Gomez and Grant Psomas each had two hits and drove in two runs, and Gomez stole three bases as the Hagerstown Suns finished a six-game road trip with a 6-2 victory over the Lakewood BlueClaws on Tuesday night.

The Suns (24-37 South Atlantic League second half) scored a run in six different innings to support starter Blake Eager (6-3), who allowed eight hits and two runs in five innings to earn the win.

Rafael Cova worked three scoreless innings and Joe Serfass pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to close it out.

Jim Burt had two hits and scored twice, while Kyle Brown hit his first home run for the Suns.
