The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States has announced that Robert F. Harris Jr. of Mont Alto, Pa., has achieved All American status as a Post Commander for the second straight year.

National Commander John Furgess said Harris, commander of Post 1599 in Chambersburg, Pa., is one of 15 post commanders worldwide selected for the All American honor.

Harris is being cited "for the visionary leadership and direction he has given to this organization, his devotion to veterans' causes and his selfless sacrifices made advocating for his fellow veterans," according to a VFW news release.

Harris was honored May 22 during ceremonies at the VFW National Conference in Salt Lake City. He lives in Mont Alto with his wife, Diane, and daughter Lauren.
