The result of a lot of hard work by local farmers - and Mother Nature's contribution - is being reaped throughout the Tri-State area this summer as various crops are harvested.

Corn, tomatoes, peaches and apples are among the local crops people can enjoy this time of year.

Also being harvested are hay, alfalfa and corn for silage to feed livestock, said Jeff Semler, an agriculture extension educator with the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension in Washington County.

All of which means more hard work for farmers.
