Suns beat Delmarva again

August 27, 2005

SALISBURY, Md.

Jesus Flores, one of five Hagerstown Suns with two hits Friday night, had two doubles and four RBI as last-place Hagerstown beat the first-place Delmarva Shorebirds for the second straight night, 10-3.

The Suns took an early 7-0 lead, scoring six runs off Josh Potter (3-3) in the top of the second inning to give starter Michael Devaney all the support he'd need. Devaney (9-4) allowed three runs (two earned), four hits and three walks while striking out four in six innings.

Leading 7-3, Hagerstown added three more insurance runs in the eighth. Jose Coronado singled, took second on Ambiorix Concepcion's single, went to third on a wild pitch by Paul Henry and scored on another wild pitch. After Grant Psomas walked, Flores hit a two-run double to left.
