The Volvo Group reported strong increases in its U.S. Mack truck line for the first half of the year, continuing a strong but tapering demand extending from 2004.
The company, which operates a Volvo Powertrain North America plant in Hagerstown, reported Thursday the company delivered 18,781 Mack trucks in the U.S. from January through July, a 49 percent increase from the same period last year.
Across its three truck lines, including Mack, Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks, Volvo reported a 20 percent increase in worldwide truck deliveries, bolstered by increases of 44 percent and 45 percent in its North American and Asian markets.
