Auto show scheduled for Boonesborough Days

August 26, 2005

BOONSBORO - The Boonsboro Historical Society is sponsoring its annual antique car show Sunday, Sept. 11, in conjunction with Boonesborough Days in Shafer Park.

This year's featured car will be a 1916 Model T Ford Depot Hack owned and restored by Ronnie Ford of Boonsboro.

Last year's show featured nearly 100 cars from four states. Show organizers encourage local owners of antique cars (at least 25 years old - absolutely no modified cars, please) to participate even though they do not belong to an organized car club.

There is no participation fee, and an event plaque will be given to the first 75 qualified vehicles on the show field. This is a fun meet with no judging.

Most display cars are on the field by 11 a.m. Past shows have had a good variety of cars, and most owners are available to talk and reminisce about their vehicles.

Auto show participants will be only a few steps away from the Boonesborough Days Antique and Craft Show.
