Humane Society dinner set for Friday

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Tammy Sneath Grimes, the founder of Dogs Deserve Better, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to freeing the chained or penned dog, will be the guest speaker at the annual dinner of The Humane Society of Morgan County.

Dogs Deserve Better was the first-place winner of the 2003 ASPCA Pet Protector Award for its efforts on behalf of chained dogs.

The organization works through education, legislation and rescue and rehabilitation efforts, as well as provides house training and fencing help when possible.

The dinner, which is open to the public, will be Friday at Cacapon Resort State Park Restaurant in Berkeley Springs.
