Anna T. Roche, 94

WILLIAMSPORT - Anna T. Roche, 94, of Williamsport, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Williamsport Nursing Home.

Born Oct. 31, 1910, in Duryea, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Martin P. Comer and Anna Kelley Comer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin A. Roche.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons, Martin A. Roche of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Francis J. Roche of Martinsburg, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Michelle Shum, Melissa Roche, John, Michael, Moira and Mary K. Roche and Elizabeth Hansel.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Comer, Marjory Hiscock, Irene McCauley and Alice Hucko, and five brothers, John, Thomas, Gerald, William and Martin Comer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Syracuse, N.Y. Interment prayers will be said at Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Syracuse.

Terrance L. McKissick, 62


MAY 1, 1943-AUG. 13, 2005

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Terrance L. "Chic" McKissick, 62, of 241 Hudson Ave., died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Harrisburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born May 1, 1943, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Ada Catherine McKissick.

He had been employed for 33 years at West Penn Power.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Sabillasville, Md.

He was a member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW and Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, both in Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Radecke McKissick, whom he married June 30, 1962; three sons, Paul L. McKissick, Guy A. McKissick, and Chuck R. McKissick, all of Chambersburg; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by one son, William S. McKissick.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. Terry L. Hoke will officiate. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Susan E. Robison, 89

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Susan Elizabeth Strock Robison, 89, formerly of 944 Scotland Ave. and 100 Ragged Edge Road, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, in Menno Haven, where she resided since April 1, 2005.

Born Nov. 19, 1915, in Edenville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Elmer G. and Ruth G. Haulman Strock.

Her husband, Lloyd William "Robbie" Robison, died May 3, 1994.

She was a 1936 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg and its Alda Bower Sunday School Class.

She is survived by five children, Carolyn L. Summers of Harrisburg, Pa., Cynthia E. Robison, Suzanne R. Everly and Donald L. Robison, all of Chambersburg, and Thomas E. Robison of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Hattie Shadle of Chambersburg and Lou Brady of Biglerville, Pa.; one brother, Franklin A. Strock of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Chambersburg. The Rev. John J. Dromazos will officiate. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Sylvia B. Dawson, 78


JULY 25, 1927-AUG. 12, 2005

MANTEO, N.C. - Sylvia Birkitt Dawson, 78, of Manteo, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Va.

Born July 25, 1927, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Birkitt and Virginia A. Shelly Birkitt.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, David P. Dawson.

She had been a teacher's aide and substitute for Prince William County school system.

She was a member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church.

She was a volunteer for a hot line that supported the Abused Women Shelter in Manteo.

She is survived by three daughters, Shelly Gilley of Stafford, Va., Susan Dawson of Falls Church, Va., and Donna DeGroot of Purcellville, Va.; one son, Rick Dawson of Woodbridge, Va.; one brother, Dr. Glenn H. Birkitt Sr. of Leesburg, Va.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. John Bethard will officiate. Burial will be in Middleway (W.Va.) Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
