Bank completes acquisition

August 15, 2005

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - John C. Duffey, president and chief executive officer of The First National Bank of McConnellsburg (FNB), announced the successful completion of the acquisition of the Hancock branch of Hagerstown Trust Co.

"FNB is known for bringing independent community banking and quality personal service to our customers," Duffey said in a prepared release. "We look forward to this opportunity to provide that service to an expanded number of citizens in Hancock and the surrounding area. We believe the former Hagerstown Trust Co. customers will be pleased with the full range of services found at FNB.

"In the near future, we will begin an extensive renovation of the building that will include an ATM and added convenience and efficiency for our customers and staff."

The assumption of Hagerstown Trust's Hancock office by FNB was effective June 27. FNB will provide full service at the 131 W. Main St. office, with expanded hours at both the lobby and the drive-through.

FNB is a subsidiary of FNB Financial Corporation, a bank holding company with headquarters in McConnellsburg.

FNB operates four branch offices in Franklin and Fulton counties in Pennsylvania and one branch office in Hancock that operates under the name Hancock Community Bank.

"We will ensure that this transition is a smooth one. The staff at the Hancock office will work closely with all of the customers affected by this change to see that they are well taken care of," Duffey said.
