Youth Jam '05

Country western dance

Bayou Wine Festival


Featuring the Dixie Power Trio and Zydeco Crayz. Saturday and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m., gates open at 11 a.m. Linganore Winecellars, 13601 Glissans Mill Road, Mount Airy, Md. $10; free for ages 20 and younger with a paying adult. Bring a beach blanket or chair. No pets or alcohol.

Augustoberfest


A celebration of German culture with music, food and dancing. There will be a Kinderwunderland for children. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Downtown Hagerstown across from the Central Parking Lot off North Potomac Street. $7 per day; free for ages 12 and younger. Colonial Farm Faire

Leitersburg Peach Festival


The festival will feature peaches and peach products such as pies, ice cream, cobbler, tea and more, food, crafts, petting zoo, antique tractors, pony rides, Civil War encampment and much more. Ronnie Ray and the Coolers will perform Saturday, and Lou Scally will provide entertainment on Sunday. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Leitersburg Ruritan Community Park, behind Leitersburg Fire Hall. Free.

Firefighters' and EMS competition


The West Virginia and Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services competition. Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 a.m.. Saturday's competition will include pre-event water rescue, superstars, combat challenge, CPR/driving, first responder scrapbook and photography competitions. Sunday's competition will resume with paramedic, EMT, structural, firefighter and water rescue. The public is invited.
