Microphones help council be heard

August 10, 2005

WILLIAMSPORT - Sound carried better than usual at Monday's Williamsport Town Council meeting.

Last month, resident Virginia Funk complained that low-talking council members had driven away people who want to witness government in action, but can't hear what's happening.

On Monday, microphones prominently placed on tables in front of council members picked up almost all of their comments.

"We're working on it," Mayor James G. McCleaf II told the audience.
