Elvis tribute concert

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - An Elvis tribute concert, "One Night with You in Gaithersburg" will be presented from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Holiday Inn Grand Ballroom in Gaithersburg.

The tribute will star John Fix, Mario, and Anna Nicholson.

The Las Vegas-style show will have a cash bar. Ticket prices include a buffet dinner and beverage. Dinner will be served from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets cost $40 for regular seating and $50 for VIP seating. For tickets and information, call


Children's weekend at Renaissance Festival

CROWNSVILLE, Md. - Maryland Renaissance Festival will host a children's weekend Saturday, Aug. 27, and Sunday, Aug. 28.

All children 11 and younger will be admitted free. From 11 a.m. to noon all young lads and lasses are invited to Boars Head Tavern to meet the Lost Princess at a special princess party. There also will be an appearance by the knights from medieval times.


The festival will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends from Saturday, Aug. 27, through Sunday, Oct. 23, and Monday, Sept. 5, in Crownsville.

New York City bus trip

Western Maryland Center Auxiliary will sponsor a "Christmas in New York City" bus trip Monday, Dec. 12, through Wednesday, Dec. 14. Reservations are due by Monday, Oct. 31. The cost is $340 and includes Atlantic Coast transportation, two nights at The Belvedere Hotel, tips, four-hour tour of New York City. There also will be time to shop. No refunds, meals on your own.

The bus will leave Western Maryland Hospital Center at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, and return about 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Alaska information seminar
