Potomac Bancshares

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Potomac Bancshares, the bank holding company for Bank of Charles Town, listed net income of $1.891 million for the six months ended June 30. That compared to $1.517 million for the same period last year, an improvement of 25 percent, according to Robert F. Baronner Jr., president and CEO of Potomac Bancshares.

Basic earnings were $.56 per share for the first six months of 2005 compared to $.45 for the six months ended June 30, 2004. Diluted earnings were $.55 per share for the six months ended June 30, compared to $.45 for the same period in 2004.

The 2004 earnings per share figures have been restated to reflect the 100 percent stock dividend paid March 15.

The board of directors approved a third quarter dividend payment of 8.50 cents per share of common stock. This dividend will be paid on Sept. 1 to shareholders of record on Aug. 15.


Pampered Chef

A local team of Pampered Chef consultants, headed by Deb Bixler, advanced director and trainer, has purchased and donated a copy of the book, "The Pampered Chef, The Story of One of America's Most Beloved Companies," to every public library in the York, Adams and Franklin counties, Pa., library systems.

The team also donated copies of the book to several libraries in Cumberland and Moutour counties in Pennsylvania.

The Manitowoc Co.

MANITOWOC, Wis. - The Manitowoc Co. reported record net sales and earnings for the second quarter ended June 30.

Net sales increased 17 percent to $616.8 million, from $526.2 million during the second quarter of 2004.

Premier Bank

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Premier Bank, a new state-chartered, full-service bank, has opened for business at Maddex Square Shopping Center in Shepherdstown.

The bank has opened in temporary quarters behind its newly completed building, which is expected to be ready for occupancy in early fall. The bank also is operating out of temporary quarters in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Premier Community Bankshares Inc. is the parent company of The Marathon Bank, Rockingham Heritage Bank and Premier Bank. It operates 17 banking offices in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle.

TG Designs LLC

TG Designs LLC has opened TG Designs II Showroom at Foxshire Plaza on Dual Highway in Hagerstown.

TG Designs, in business for more than eight years, said in a release the expansion will allow it to provide a full-service florist to a growing segment of the community.

The store was to open for business this week.
