Stroke screening


Residents living in and around the Clear Spring community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke. Life Line Screening will have appointments beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at New Life Christian Ministries, 12624 Trinity Church Drive.

Screenings are fast and painless. They involve the use of ultrasound technology, to scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries, aortic aneurysms and hardening of the arteries. Also offered for men and women is a bone-density screening to access their risk for osteoporosis.

Each screening requires 10 minutes or less to complete. A complete vascular screening package, including the stroke/carotid artery, abdominal aortic aneurysm and ankle brachial index screenings is $109. A complete vascular package, which includes the osteoporosis screening, costs $129.
