A Hancock woman died Saturday when the pickup truck in which she was riding struck a tree and flipped over, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said Michelle D. Huff, 39, of 13822 Vantz St., was pronounced dead at the scene in the 100 block of Little Cove Road in Warren Township. An autopsy was performed Sunday at Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pa., and the cause of death was blunt-force multiple trauma, Conner said.

Police said Huff was a passenger in a 1988 Ford F-150 driven by Steven L. Huff, 45, of Hancock. The pickup was southbound at 6:50 p.m. when it went off the road and the passenger's side struck a tree, police said.

The pickup then bounced off the tree and rolled onto its roof, police said.

Also in the truck was an unidentified 4-year-old girl who had moderate injuries, police said. The girl was taken to Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa., then transported to a trauma center for further treatment.

Steven Huff's mother, Betty Huff of Hancock, said the child is her great-granddaughter and Steven Huff's granddaughter, Makayla Huff of Hagerstown. She was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, Pa., and kept overnight for observation, Huff said.

Betty Huff said Makayla was released from the hospital Sunday.

Police said the child was in a safety seat at the time of the accident.

Steven Huff also was taken to the medical center with minor injuries but refused treatment, police said.

Michelle and Steven Huff were wearing seat belts, police said.

Police said the accident was under investigation.
