Legends add next chapter to Suns' woes

August 08, 2005

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Mitch Einertson and Clint McGill homered in the third inning to stake Lexington to an early lead and lead the Legends to a 5-2 victory Sunday over the Hagerstown Suns.

Einertson led off the third with a drive to left field off Suns starter Matt Durkin. McGill added a one-out blast for his first homer since May 11.

Durkin (2-4) was making his first start since mid-June, when he was placed on the disabled list with arm problems. Durkin pitched three innings, only allowing the two home runs while striking out three.

The Suns (55-53, 13-25) got a run back in the top of the fourth when Jesus Flores led off with a double off Lexington starter James Barthmaier and scored on Kyle Brown's grounder.
