Greencastle man dies in U.S. 40 crash

MYERSVILLE, Md. - A Greencastle, Pa., man died Saturday after his car crossed the center line on U.S. 40 and hit another car head-on, Maryland State Police in Frederick, Md., said.

A state police helicopter flew James Koole Sr., 52, to Washington County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Koole was westbound in a 1994 Saturn.

About 3:30 p.m., his car crossed over the center line and hit a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, police said.

The collision happened west of Brethren Church Road, near Myersville.

Tracie Lynn Romba, 34, of Holly, Mich., who was driving the Pontiac, and her husband, Raymond Romba, 40, a passenger with her, were taken by ambulance to Washington County Hospital.

Both were treated and released, a hospital spokesperson said Saturday night.
