A little bit classy, a little bit rock 'n' roll

It must be love.

Ask any classic car owner about his or her wheels and the details come pouring out - the engine, the upholstery, v-this and c-that, the work they've done, the work they haven't done.

For people who just want a look, here are some beloved classics - some of which were given a street rod makeover.

For those who want more to see, hear and learn about, check out Classic Car Group for Children Inc.'s weekly shows in the parking lot of Valley Mall. On a good night, 300 to 450 cars are on display, organizer Larry Sulser said.

The group is there from 6 to 9:30 p.m. raising money for Dream Come True, a local charity that benefits children with serious or life-threatening illnesses. Participants pay $2 and get 50/50 tickets. Spectators may donate.

For more information, call Sulser at 301-992-4596 or e-mail thegrumpy148@aol.com.

The group will be there Saturday nights through Sept. 17, except Aug. 20.

If you go, you might see these wheels ...
