Suns blocked

August 01, 2005

The Hagerstown Suns have seen so much rain, they are coming home, traveling two-by-two.

The Suns scheduled doubleheader in Kannapolis, N.C. was cancelled because of wet grounds on Sunday. It will not be made up since it was the last time the Suns and the Intimidators meet this season.

The postponement comes on the heels of Saturday's rain-shortened doubleheader loss. Kannapolis shutout Hagerstown 3-0 in the opener and was awarded a 4-1 win in the nightcap when rain came after the fifth inning.

It was the fifth straight day the Suns' scheduled was altered by the weather. Wednesday's game in Delmarva was suspended, followed by a pair rainouts.

Hagerstown (11-21, 53-49) is off today before starting a four-game homestand on Tuesday. The Suns face Lake County in the first of a two-game set at 7:05 p.m.
