Dave Ashburn, president of the Exchange Club's Mason Dixon District, won the National Presidential Exchange Club's award while attending the national convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. The award was presented by National Exchange Club President Jerry DeFeo.
Ashburn was honored for turning around a slumping district, building the district's first new club (Washington County Friends of Education) in 14 years and for his work with the national organization.
Ashburn, a past president of the Hagerstown Exchange Club, was one of five to receive the national honor.
There are 14 clubs in the Mason Dixon District, which covers Maryland, the District of Columbia and parts of Delaware and Pennsylvania. Exchange, America's Service Club, is a group of men and women working together to make our communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, community service, youth activities and its national project, prevention of child abuse. If this organization interests you, call Ashburn at 301-791-2059 or contact any Exchange Club member.
