Two men charged with attempted robbery, burglary

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A borough police officer Wednesday night spotted two men, one of them armed, who police allege were preparing to rob Schoenberger's Restaurant, 346 Lincoln Way East.

Shortly before midnight the officer saw two men wearing bandanas on their faces and gloves walking toward the beer carryout store of the restaurant, police said. Police allege one of the men, Travis Wayne Larue, was carrying a loaded handgun when they were stopped.

Police charged Larue, 22, of 266 Philadelphia Ave., with attempted robbery, attempted burglary, possession of a firearm without a license, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia and liability for the conduct of another.

Mark Derek Moore, 19, of 1232 Scotland Ave., was charged with attempted robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and liability for the conduct of another, police said.

The charges against Larue and Moore were filed with Magisterial District Judge Larry Pentz and both men were in Franklin County Prison Thursday.

They are scheduled for preliminary hearings in Franklin County Central Court on Tuesday.
