Thanks to the Hagerstown Rotary Club Foundation, 29 local nonprofit organizations received a total of $75,000. Checks were presented Wednesday at the Rotary Club's weekly lunch meeting at the Four Points Sheraton in Hagerstown.

Two-for-one coupon books, a golf tournament, and a bull and oyster roast generated the funds, said Dan Schukraft, president of the Hagerstown Rotary Club Foundation.

The club distributes funds from the foundation that was established 25 years ago. During that time, 184 organizations have received more than $1.1 million. This year's donations represent the fourth-largest amount in the foundation's history.
