City police seek suspect in Hagerstown Trust robbery

Late Friday, Hagerstown City Police released a surveillance photo and a more-detailed description of a man wanted in connection with Friday morning's robbery of the Hagerstown Trust Co. Bank on West Side Avenue at West Franklin Street.

Lt. Michael King said the man approached a bank employee at 9:11 a.m. and handed the employee a note. The note indicated he was robbing the bank.

The robber did not display a weapon and there were no injuries, King said. He left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, possibly in the direction of Alexander Street.

The area was searched with the assistance of Maryland State Police K-9, police said.

The robber is described as white, 5 feet 6 or 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 to 160 pounds, medium build, with light facial stubble and a light moustache. He was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a white ballcap.

Police ask anyone with information on the robbery to call 301-790-3700 and ask for the duty officer.
