Storm causes minor accidents

July 21, 2005

A rainstorm that rolled through Washington County on Tuesday led to traffic accidents on Interstate 70, an emergency dispatcher and Maryland State Police said.

Only minor injuries were reported.

The dispatcher said storm damage was reported in and around Hancock and Clear Spring.

Storm-related calls started around 6 p.m. and lasted for about 45 minutes to an hour, the dispatcher said.

Hagerstown weather observer Greg Keefer's Web site says Hagerstown received almost a quarter-inch of rain during Tuesday.
