"I'm calling in response to the person who called in and said that we should name our new baseball stadium after President Bush. OK, why don't we name it Mistake Stadium or Impeach Bush Stadium. I just thought that I would add to this comment."

- Hagerstown

"I was just reading about the folks who are complaining that professional ball players make more than scientists and teachers do. Of course they do because they make the people that pay them a lot more money than scientists or teachers make the people they work for. It is all relative as to how much money everybody is making. If a ball player is going to bring in the people that fill the stands and pay for the tickets they are worth every penny that they are paid because they are making the person who pays them that much more money."

- Martinsburg, W.Va.

"I think the mayor of Hancock should appoint the next highest votegetter from the previous election to the vacant council seat, which would be the will of the Hancock citizens and not someone hand-picked by the mayor."

"As the tannery begins to close, I wanted to wish these fine people the best of luck. These employees are among the finest hard-working employees in the world. I guess dedication, pride in your work and quality is not as important as it once was. These people also care about and support the community and their co-workers. Employers, if you want a good employee, hire a tannery worker."

- Williamsport

"I would like to congratulate the young lady who graduated from Clear Spring High School who was in the award ceremony and had her picture on the front page of Thursday's paper. She knew how to dress for the occasion and her parents and teachers should be very proud of her."

- Clear Spring

"This is to the caller who said I should be thrown in jail because of secondhand smoke. The only way my secondhand smoke is going to bother you is if we are in a closed-in area for years and years. Now on the other hand, every time you turn that key on that vehicle of yours you are killing 50 or 60 people that are around you. Now who should be thrown in jail?"

- Hagerstown

"Could someone please tell me how to keep fruit from rotting so fast? Especially bananas."

- Falling Waters, W.Va.

"Ministers work very hard on their sermons. They don't need parents with young children interrupting their sermons by leaving two or three times. It is very rude and is very inconsiderate."

- Martinsburg, W.Va.

"The reason why all of the people in Maryland are moving to Pennsylvania is because only millionaires can afford to live here now. And the millionaires want us undesirables out."

- Hagerstown

"I just want to thank the people at The Herald-Mail for most of the time putting the comics some place other than the Sports section. It makes living much nicer in my house now because I can read the sports and my husband can read the comics and we don't fight about it."

- Smithsburg
