Election of two pork producer delegate candidates for the 2006 Delegation Body of the National Pork Board are to begin at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4 in Annapolis, an official said.
Jennifer Debnam, president of the Maryland Pork Producers Association, said the election will be held in conjunction with the MPPA Board of Directors meeting at the state Department of Agriculture.
She said any pork producer who lives in Maryland and has paid all assessments due, may be considered as a delegate candidate and participate in the election. Eligible producers are encouraged to bring a sales receipt proving hogs were sold in their name and the checkoff was deducted, she said.
