The Parent-Child Center announces its board members and officers for the new year:

Officers: Vince Dellaposta, president; Dick Vidoni, vice president; Rick Tidler, treasurer; Colleen Barnes, secretary.

Members: Pastor Tim Fisher, Tim Morris, Joe Consoletti, Linda Stouffer, Monty Jones, Ruth Cunningham, Nikki Perini and Greg Bannon, attorney at law.

Since 1983, the Parent-Child Center has strived to meet its mission to "partnership with the community to reduce child maltreatment through education and supportive services for parents and children." The Parent-Child Center provided services to hundreds of families in 2004 and 2005 through in-home assistance and mentoring, parent education, teen mentoring and other service (clothing, furniture and household items donations and holiday meals and toys) programs. All programs are offered free of charge to our families and most programs are volunteer based. The no-cost initiatives are important to achieve our mission to provide our services to many under privileged, at-risk families. Without our programs, many families would not be able to afford or obtain the help and assistance they need to learn appropriate discipline skills, communication skills, child development principles or appropriate parental role modeling. The Parent-Child Center is located at 998 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, Md. The phone number is 301-791-2224.
