WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Due to a source's error, an obituary in Tuesday's Morning Herald for Mabel G. Ward, age 80, beloved grandmother and friend, who died Sunday, July 10, 2005, at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md., omitted information.

She is also survived by two great-grandsons, Wayne D. Shives and Joshua D. Shives of Hagerstown.

She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Shane Ward.




Adelaide V. Stotler, 67


MAY 19, 1938-JULY 12, 2005

Adelaide Virginia Wilson Stotler, 67, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 19, 1938, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Roy and Elsie May Weaver Nave.

She retired from the Sheraton Hotel in Hagerstown, where she was a housekeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Harry E. Stotler; three sons, Rickie L. Nave of Hagerstown, Larry A. Wilson of Paw Paw, W.Va., and Steve M. Wilson of Sharpsburg; two sisters, Betty Lapole and Janice Ringus, both of Hagerstown; one brother, William Nave of Falling Waters, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Ellen Miller, Dorothy Martz, Emma Lewis, Bessie Turner and Elsie Knott, and one brother, John R. Nave Jr.

Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown. The Rev. Thom Smith will officiate.

Francis M. Collis, 78

GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - Francis Madison "Hank" Collis, 78, of Gerrardstown, died Monday, July 11, 2005, at Care Haven Center.

Born Nov. 8, 1926, in Gerrardstown, he was the son of the late Howard Franklin Collis and Helen Virginia Chapman Collis Dunham.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Elizabeth "Libby" Stewart Collis.

He was a 1945 graduate of Martinsburg High School.

He retired from MJ Grove Lime Co.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Gerrardstown United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Marie Bohrer of Chester, Va.; three sons, Robert F. Collis and John R. Collis, both of Inwood, W.Va., and Roger L. Collis of Hagerstown; one sister, Anna M. Miller of Martinsburg, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one aunt; nieces; nephews; and close friend, Soon Kitts of Gerrardstown.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Germaine D. Collis, and one brother, Paul E. Collis.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at South Berkeley Funeral Chapel in Inwood. The Rev. William Starr and Pastor Irene Pough will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Ora E. Christman, 100


MARCH 14, 1905-JULY 12, 2005

ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Ora E. Christman, 100, formerly of St. Thomas, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at the Shook Home in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born March 14, 1905, in St. Thomas, she was the daughter of the late S.C. Christman and Ella Huber Christman.

She graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1922 and from Shippensburg State Teachers College in 1924.

She taught at St. Thomas Township schools for 42 years, retiring in 1982.

She was a member of United Methodist Church of St. Thomas, where she was a member of United Methodist Women, among other church organizations.

She is survived by cousins.

Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul F. Crawford Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

AUG. 26, 1942-JULY 12, 2005

Thomas Earl Miller, 62, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at his home.

Born Aug. 26, 1942, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Earl Emerson and Ethel May Divel Miller.

He retired as a self-employed mechanic.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a Catholic.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Miller; one daughter, Joanna N. Alsip of Hagerstown; one son, Steven W. Miller of Williamsport; six sisters, Mary C. Henson, Nell V. Cable, Rebecca A. Hovermale, Edna M. McGowan and Wanda J. Ranier, all of Hagerstown, and Helen R. Leberknight of Chambersburg, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances M. Miller and Clara L. Free, and five brothers, Glenn A. Miller, Ernest E. Miller, Elmer R. Miller, John H. Miller and Charles F. Miller.

Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery. The Rev. Stephen D. Robinson will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
