"Mount Lena is overrun by groundhogs. I saw on TV where they have a big machine like a vacuum on a truck and it sucks the groundhogs right out of the ground. Kansas has this. I would like to know if they have any of these machines in Maryland, and if they don't, they should have some."

"I'm calling in regards to the Mile Long Yard Sale over there on Paradise Church Road. Why can't they make it one-way for one day to stop all the congestion and stuff there? I'm 70 years old and I can see this. Why can't they? One-way in there would be a great advantage to everybody and not have all that traffic tied up."

- Williamsport

"Some people go to church and say it's all right to go with whatever you have on. The word modest and decent is still in the dictionary."

- Hagerstown

"Regarding proper dress for church. Dressing appropriately for church is showing respect for the Lord in His house. Even Adam and Eve covered their bodies because they were ashamed of their nakedness. Enough said."

- Hagerstown

"This is in response to the lady who doesn't want people in Maryland to live in Pennsylvania. Well, the thing of it is you don't mind coming over here and working and taking Maryland's money. So appreciate it because they are keeping you and keeping a roof over your head."

- Hagerstown

"To the person who thought Bush was better than President Clinton. Bush is not even close and the thing that I will regret in a few years is that Bush can slink back to his Texas ranch and collect his presidential allowance of $25,000 a month after he hit us for Social Security and tore families apart."

- Hagerstown

"This is for all the people that are complaining about Bush. I don't like Bush either for one but everybody has their own opinion about things and you need to respect everybody else's opinion."

- Washington County

"I just want to say I agree with the person who stated that professional ballplayers make more than scientists and teachers. What is wrong with America? We are still thinking backwards. Come on. These people are educators and prime care givers of our children who are growing up to become ballplayers. Give us a break and start paying the teachers."

- Hagerstown

"This is for my brother, Bobby. I would like to think him for all that he has done for me. I really want him to know that I really love him and no matter what I will always be his twin."

- Hagerstown

"This is to any and all drivers. When you are coming off an exit, please slow down and wait for the people on the main interstate. You have the yield sign, they don't."

- Hancock

"Williamsport High School's class reunion for 1990 will be Oct. 1."

- Williamsport

"I want to talk about the short skirt that someone wore to church. Let me tell you about an experience I had. I went out of town for a few days and I went to church I wore a pants suit. When I shook hands with the minister I said to him. 'I wore this pants suit because I didn't have a dress.' He said, 'I wore pants, too, because I didn't have a dress.' We both laughed.

- Hagerstown

"This is for all the callers who are calling in about President Clinton. What he did was his own personnel business. It didn't affect our country. It was between him and his wife. What President Bush is doing is affecting our country because it is killing off our men and women for a needless cause."

- Hagerstown

"This is to the people who have collected $3 million in gambling. I suggest that they would give some of the money to Holly House. Holly House has done such good work for the people. I would also like to thank you very much for all the nice things that you let the people call in about."

- Washington County

"I am calling in about the people who are complaining that the government is taking our land. All that is going to happen is this. A big corporation wants three people's property and the government is going to say, 'How much are you going to pay to take these people's property?' Your land will go to the highest bidder. It just it won't be yours anymore, it will be the government's. The more land you sell, the more our taxes will go up. That's what they will do until someone does something about it."

- Hagerstown
