Pa. Dems plan family day

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Franklin County Democrats are holding a picnic and family fun day Saturday, Aug. 6, from noon to 6 p.m. at Scotland Memorial Park, 3763 Scotland Road, Chambersburg.

There will be games, prizes and entertainment for children, a yard sale, silent auction and raffle. Admission is free.

Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll will speak at 1:30 p.m. and former U.S. Rep. Joe Hoeffel will speak at 2 p.m.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the Swing States Road Show, whose songs have aired on national radio, and Watermelon Sugar, a Central Pennsylvania acoustic-folk duo.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, desserts and soft drinks will be sold.

Proceeds will benefit the Franklin County Democratic Party.
