Hagerstown Trust


Sharon L. Steiner has been promoted to vice president manager retail, lending sales support, at Hagerstown Trust Co. Her responsibilities include managing a support unit dedicated to providing superior customer service contributing to the effective and efficient processing of retail loan applications and related underwriting services.

Steiner, of Williamsport, began working for Hagerstown Trust in 1983 as a teller. During her 22-years at the bank, she has held various positions including head teller, branch manager, personal loan officer and underwriter.

-- Susan M. Mades has been promoted to vice president regional manager. She is responsible for the delivery of quality financial services to branch customers at the branch level and provides leadership and guidance to branch managers within a designated branch network.

Mades, of Hagerstown, began her career with Hagerstown Trust in 1986 in retail banking as a customer service representative. She has held various positions, including assistant and branch manager.

-- Stephen L. Hummel has been promoted to senior vice president Branch Administration, Security & Compliance. He is responsible for directing and coordinating retail banking operations with a focus on quality customer service, teamwork and security for all Hagerstown Trust banking customers, staff and property.

Hummel, of Hagerstown, began working for Hagerstown Trust in 1975 as a teller.

-- Anissa P. Wade has been promoted to vice president regional manager. She will be responsible for the delivery of quality financial services to branch customers at the branch level and provides leadership and guidance to branch managers within a designated branch network.

Wade, of Fairplay, began working for Hagerstown Trust as a teller in 1989. She has held various positions including personal financial specialist, customer service manager and branch manager.




Susquehanna Bank


Christopher R. Walter, a registered representative with Susquehanna Bank in Hagerstown, has earned membership in the Leadership Council for PLANCO, a wholesaler of investment and insurance products for The Hartford. Leadership memberships are reserved for representatives who produce more than $1 million in Hartford Leaders sales in a calendar year.




Nationwide Insurance


BOONSBORO - Valen Meadows, a Nationwide Insurance agent from Boonsboro, was recognized at an agency sales conference in Des Moines, Iowa, as one of the company's leading writers of farm insurance.

The FAST Track Conference was held in recognition of top-producing agents in sales of new farms business during 2004. The group comprises the Farm Agent Sales Team.

While more than 1,200 agents write farm business for Nationwide, only 43 qualified for the FAST Track Conference, according to a company news release.




Long & Foster


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Margie Bartles, manager of the Martinsburg Long & Foster office, has announced that The Carol Harold Team was the top producer and seller in May.

In addition, The Butch Cazin Team was the top lister; and The Butch Cazin Team, The Carol Harold Team, Teksin Duman, Natalie Hoffman and Dottie Haderer were the top five sales associates with the greatest production in May.

FREDERICK, Md. - Stephanie Dewees has joined the office of RE/MAX 100 in Frederick.

She is a member of the Frederick County Association of Realtors and the Maryland Association of Realtors.

Sagittarius Salon Owner/CEO Marsha Knicley Masood and Manager Loree Wesley recently attended "Business Immersion II" at the new Bumble & Bumble University in New York City.

The focus of the week was on such areas as leadership skills, teaching motives, and trendsetting styling techniques.




MCI - Hagerstown /


Terry L. Babington, administrative captain, has been named Supervisor of the Quarter at the Maryland Correctional Institution - Hagerstown.

Babington, who also is tactical team commander for the prison, was selected for the award for his hard work and dedication.

n John McKay, vocational sheet metal instructor, has been named Employee of the Month at MCI.

He was recognized for his efforts and contribution to the security of the prison. He took the initiative not only to modify, but to manufacture, shields for use when dealing with disruptive inmates.




Mid-Atlantic Veterinary Hospital


Beth Williams, tech lead, and Dr. Cora Franklin, of Mid-Atlantic Veterinary Hospital in Hagerstown, recently completed 34 hours of continuing education in ultrasound technology, including a focus on soft tissue techniques.

Sound Technologies of Carlsbad, Calif., provided the training.




U.S. Business Planners


Laureen Angle, Wendy Cowan and Tina Mussolino, CPA, of U.S. Business Planners Inc. of Hagerstown, recently passed Intuit's Professional Advisor certification for the QuickBooks 2005 products.

The certification testing is Intuit's method of qualifying those who have demonstrated expert knowledge of the accounting software package.

U.S. Business Planners is a regional business development and training company.
