Man cut on ear in knife incident


Hagerstown City Police said a 52-year-old man reported being cut with a knife on the ear by another man early Monday in the 100 or 200 block of Summit Avenue.

Police said the victim told police that a man approached him at about 12:30 a.m. Monday and showed a knife before he was cut.

Police ask that anyone with further information about the incident call investigators at 301-790-3700.

Man charged in incident


FREDERICK, Md. - A man dressed in women's clothing spotted tampering with a vehicle in Frederick on Monday was later charged after a citizen followed him, according to a release from the Frederick Police Department.

Lewis Eugene Nolan, 46, of the 500 block of Heather Ridge Drive in Frederick, was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, destruction of property, theft less than $500, littering, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

On Monday, at about 9:30 p.m., a man was seen by a citizen tampering with a vehicle in the first block of East Fifth Street, according to the release. The citizen, after seeing the man remove several items from the vehicle, called police and followed the man, police said.

The man was stopped in the first block of West Seventh Street and was allegedly found to be in possession of several items stolen from the vehicle, according to the release.

Nolan was being held on $12,000 bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center this morning, a jail spokeswoman said.

Motorcyclist hurt in accident


BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - A motorcyclist was taken to Washington County Hospital after an accident on Monday involving the cycle and a pickup truck, according to dispatch information.

Emergency operators were called at 12:49 p.m. Monday to the accident in the 2800 block of Johnsons Mill Road, a Morgan County, W.Va., dispatcher said.

The Berkeley County Volunteer Fire Co. and Morgan County Rescue Service were called, as well as local police. A Maryland State helicopter took the motorcyclist to the hospital with an apparent leg fracture, according to Washington County dispatch information.

No other information was available.

Man faces drug, fugitive charges


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A man with a Martinsburg address was taken into police custody early Sunday in connection with an armed robbery in Leesburg, Va., Martinsburg City Police said.

Terence Lamar Bowman, 40, of 805 Marquette Drive, Martinsburg, was being held on $60,000 bond at Eastern Regional Jail, according to a jail spokeswoman. He was charged with drug possession and being a fugitive from justice.

According to a news release, police were notified of an armed robbery in Loudon County, Va., that involved a Plymouth with a license plate that was traced to the Marquette Drive address. At about 2 a.m., police saw a car matching the description of the one connected to the robbery and stopped it along Kyle Drive.

When police searched the car, they allegedly found a shopping bag with $166 in cash, a silver BB gun, a black bandanna and three grams of powder cocaine. Police identified the driver as Bowman.
