The Ensmingers


James and Verna Lynn Ensminger celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Hagerstown Elks Lodge. The event was hosted by their daughters, Susan Miller and Sandra Lewis, and was attended by family and friends.

The Ensmingers were married May 14, 1955, at the Alhambra Methodist Church in Alhambra, Calif., by the Rev. Fugate.

Mrs. Ensminger is the daughter of the late Dale and Ruby Thurman. She retired from the Washington County Board of Education.

Mr. Ensminger is the son of the late Gleason and Mary Ensminger. He retired from a career as an industrial salesman.

The Ensmingers have three grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Their youngest daughter, Pamela, died in 1985.




The Bartleses


John and Belva Bartles of Maugansville were honored Saturday, May 28, 2005, with a 50th wedding anniversary dinner at the Antrim House Restaurant in Greencastle, Pa. The event was hosted by the Bartleses' four children, John Jr., Randy, Mark and Pam, and their spouses.

The Bartleses were married May 28, 1955, in the parsonage of the late Rev. Francis P. Litton.

Mrs. Bartles is the daughter of the late Webster and Kathleen Detrow. She is a homemaker.

Mr. Bartles is the son of the late Albert and Anna Bartles. He retired from CertainTeed Corp., in Williamsport, where he was a supervisor.

The Bartleses have six grandsons, two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.




The Harbaughs


Richard and Jeanne Harbaugh of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Nick's Airport Inn. The event was hosted by their children and spouses.

The Harbaughs were married May 27, 1955, at First Baptist Church of Hagerstown.

Mrs. Harbaugh is the daughter of the late Robert and Katherine Myers.

Mr. Harbaugh is the son of the late Harry and Lytia Harbaugh.

They were self-employed dairy farmers.

The Harbaughs have three children, Kathy Wade of Boonsboro, and Roberta Maas and Richard Harbaugh, both of Hagerstown. They have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
