Patricia Henesy said winning $50,000 in the Maryland Lottery Bonus Match 5 game Monday night was "in the cards."

She and her brother, Arthur Henesy, use a deck of cards to determine what five numbers to play when they purchase their tickets at Wooden Keg Liquors, 20219 Jefferson Blvd.

Contacted by telephone at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, Patricia Henesy, 54, said the deck of cards has numbers from one through 39 her brother has written on each card.

When tickets are to be purchased, five cards are dealt and the siblings go with the numbers that come up.

"He is my inspiration," Patricia Henesy said. "I came home and my brother was dancing around and singing."

She said when her brother told her that the ticket was a winner, she didn't believe him.

A First Data Merchant Services employee, Patricia Henesy said she is going to make some home improvements and pay some bills. She also plans on sharing the money with her family, which will make for an extra special Fourth of July weekend.

The Maryland Lottery is holding a special promotion for Bonus Match 5 winners, paying the estimated tax withholdings on the total prize amount, according to Gail Pelovitz, Lottery spokeswoman.

The winning numbers on the $1 ticket were 6, 8, 15, 22 and 37.
