WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Waynesboro Borough Council Monday waived a $200 application fee for the Waynesboro Area Senior High School class of 2005, which is seeking a variance for a sign it is buying for the school.
The class, as its parting gift to the school, wants the sign to be installed on the East Second Street side of the school building.
The sign is larger than that allowed by the borough's sign ordinance, so the students have to request a variance before the borough's Zoning Hearing Board.
The board's application fee is $200.
The council earlier waived the fee for the Waynesboro Rotary Club for the lighted sign it bought for the borough near the Greater Waynesboro Area Chamber of Commerce office on East Main Street.
