UTICA, N.Y. - Phil Powell had three hits and drove in four runs as Funkstown defeated Kingston (N.Y.) 14-3 in five innings Saturday at the Blue and Gold Tournament.

Josh Bowers earned the complete-game win, while Tim Kellinger and Kevin Brashears had three hits each and Drew Crawford and David Warrenfeltz added two hits each.

Earlier Saturday, Drew Crawford had three hits for Funkstown (22-4) in a 12-9 loss to Gaithersburg (Md.)

Smithsburg Pride Days

The seventh annual Smithsburg Pride Days tennis tournament will be held July 16-17 at Smithsburg High School.

Competition will be held in singles and doubles, with trophies to be awarded to the winners and second-place finishers in each. Registration is $10 before July 11 and $12 after.
