Puppy needs a home

June 25, 2005

Skid is a young puppy. A cattle dog mix, he made his way to the shelter via a uniformed officer of the Hagerstown Police Department. He was roaming the streets, unattended and looking scared and hungry.

He's playful (as most 8-week-old pups are prone to be) and agile. He'll likely make a great flyball or Frisbee partner.

Pet tip: Be sure to provide plenty of fresh water and shade for pets when they are outside, and on hot days, limit exercise to early morning or evening hours.

When walking pets, keep in mind that asphalt gets very hot and can burn paws.

To adopt Skid or another pet, visit the Humane Society of Washington County at 13011 Maugansville Road. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Saturdays.
