Teens vie for fire and rescue queen title

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. ? The Berkeley County Fire and Rescue Association Queen Scholarship Pageant crowns a queen and princess and awards scholarship money, crown, flowers, trophies and gifts. The event is at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, June 25, at Tomahawk Elementary School, W.Va. 9. Admission costs $5. Program booklets can be purchased at the door. Interpreting for the hearing-impaired will be available.

The contestants are:

  • Kayla Albright, 15, of Martinsburg. She attends Martinsburg High School and is the daughter of Dusty and Tammy Albright.

  • Jennifer Davis, 16, of Bunker Hill is the daughter of Joe and Kathy Davis, and is a student at Musselman High School.

  • Rebecca Grove, 15, of Bunker Hill, is the daughter of Marshall and Ronda Grove and is a student at Musselman High School.

  • Britney Hardt, 16, of Hedgesville, the daughter of Crystal and David Hardt, is a student at Hedgesville High School.

  • Samantha Hess, 15, of Hedgesville, is the daughter of Daniel and Wendy Hess. She is a student at Hedgesville High School.

  • Rebecca Hockman, 18, of Hedgesville, is the daughter of James and Donna Hockman. She is a student at Hedgesville High School.

  • Brianne Kursey, 18, of Hedgesville, is the daughter of Kent and Tammy Kursey. She plans to attend International Beauty School in the fall.

  • Nicole Sencindiver, 16, of Hedgesville, is the daughter of Tim and Suzette Sencindiver. She attends Musselman High School.

  • Krista Shepherd, 17, of Martinsburg, is the daughter of Frank and Jody Shepherd. She attends Hedgesville High School.

  • Emily Unger, 17, of Bunker Hill, is the daughter of Richard and Ann Unger. She attends Musselman High School.
